What Is Anointing Oil?

Prayer or Healing Oil, according to the Bible, is a sacred substance used to set people and things apart for God’s purpose. In Exodus 30:22–33, God gave Moses specific instructions on how to prepare this oil. This consecrated oil was used to anoint priests, prophets, kings, and sacred objects—symbolizing the presence of the Holy Spirit and divine empowerment.

In the New Testament, James 5:14 encourages believers to anoint the sick with oil and pray over them for healing, showing that anointing oil is still relevant and powerful today.
