Why Am I Not Getting Healed?
Healing is biblical and God’s desire. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us so we could live. We are entitled to abundant life and health (John 10:10).
The truth is we don’t know why some people receive healing and some don’t. I even answer this tough question in my book, Healed at Last, in a chapter about is heaven healing.
Here is a checklist you can use to see if you are doing what you know in the natural to receive healing. If you are doing these things and still not being healed, seek the Holy Spirit through prayer for divine strategies. It doesn’t mean you are doing something wrong. We know and believe God’s word, but we won’t understand all of our whys this side of heaven.
Healing checklist?
- Have I forgiven people who have hurt and offended me?
- Do I forgive myself for the wrong things that I have done?
- Am I currently participating in sin or something contrary to the Bible?
- Do I believe healing is for me and not just everyone else?
- Am I living a Christ-centered life by reading my Bible, praying and worshipping?
- Have a rooted out bitterness, doubt, worry and fear?
- Do I trust God to be my healer?
- Do I use anointing oil as a point of contact and a tangible way to experience healing?
- Do I take communion daily and believe the sacrifice Jesus purchased for me?
- Am I speaking audibly to my body and commanding it to be healed?
- Do I pray for myself to be healed and not merely ask everyone else to pray for me?
What Actions should I Take?
- Take communion daily with a piece of bread or cracker and juice. Speak and declare, “By His wounds, I am healed. I believe in Jesus’ resurrection power from the grave that I can and will receive healing in my body while I am here on earth. I take this communion and believe I receive.”
- Anoint yourself with oil. The Bible calls for us to anoint the sick; if we are sick, we can anoint ourselves. Learn more about the power of anointing oil in my free pdf booklet at kathydegrawministries.org/anointingoil or purchase a booklet on our store page.
- Pray and speak audibly, “I forgive myself.” Keep saying it until you feel a release or shift. You may have to try again another day after you have had time to process.
- Speak out loud, “I forgive (insert person’s name).” Do this for everyone you need to forgive. Forgiveness opens a door for healing and closes the door to sin, sickness and offense.
Look at the list, meditate and ask the Holy Spirit to convict you, expose the truth, and highlight what you should be doing.
Do I have enough faith to receive my healing?
Yes, it’s not your faith, but God’s – He already gave you the measure of faith and gave us the ability to renew our mind to His Word (Romans 12:1-3). We go in the strength of the Lord because the Spirit of God lives within us.
He said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed” (Matthew 17:20). You only need a small amount of faith, the faith it took to read and explore this now!
If you want to transform your life, renew your mind to His Word. God’s Word always overcomes your situation. He has already overcome the evil one. (1 John 2:14)
If you are sick or hurt, apply God’s word, “By His Stripes you were already healed” (1 Peter 2:24) and declare it audibly over your body.
How do I know if I'm being healed?
As soon as you declare healing into your body, healing takes place. His Word goes out and never returns void (Isaiah 53:11). It’s like turning a light on in a dark room. The room turns to light as soon as you turn the switch on. God is light, and greater is He that is in you than in the world. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives inside of you. The Spirit quickens your body (Romans 8).
You were already healed 2,000 years ago when Jesus went to the whipping post and paid for it. It’s a done deal, so we command our body to be healed in Jesus’ name and come into alignment with what He already did for us.
