It Will Be God: A Prophetic Word for Every Season of Life
There are moments in life when faith collides with pain, when promises seem delayed, and when our flesh cries out, “God, where are You?” These are the very moments when we must anchor ourselves to the truth: It will be God. No matter the loss, the disappointment, or the warfare, God is faithful to perform His Word.
Prophet Sophia Ruffin Wilson and I recently sat down to talk about her powerful new book, It Will Be God, and I want to impart to you the same revelation, strength, and prophetic hope we shared together. This message isn’t just a phrase—it is a prophetic decree, a declaration, and a lifeline to anyone walking through dark seasons.
Romans 8:28 – The Anchor in Storms
The foundation of It Will Be God is built on Romans 8:28:
“We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (MEV)
All things—not some, not most—all things are working together for your good. But here’s the deeper truth: even when it doesn’t feel good, it’s still working for God’s good. Sometimes His eternal purposes don’t align with our temporary desires, but His ways remain perfect.
Sophia shared how this scripture became real after losing her beloved mother. She prayed, she fasted, she believed. Yet, healing didn’t come the way she expected. Her mom transitioned to glory. And yet, in the crushing, the Lord whispered, It will be God.
Healing did come—it just looked different. It came in heaven’s fullness rather than earth’s limitations.
Faith Beyond Feelings
It is easy to trust God when blessings are flowing, when prophetic promises manifest quickly, when doors swing open. But can you trust Him when everything falls apart?
Sophia described the turning point in her grief. She told the Lord, “I’m so disappointed, but yet I trust You.” That statement is where true faith is birthed—not in circumstances, but in relationship.
I’ve had my own seasons where ministry doors seemed to slam shut. Once, I stood in a TV studio, wrongly treated, and left brokenhearted. I wanted to quit. Yet, instead of complaining, I worshiped. I declared “Jireh, You are enough.” That moment of surrender opened doors I could not have orchestrated—multiple appearances, divine favor, even a network opportunity.
Friends, when you guard your tongue, when you worship in the middle of pain, you activate heaven. Proverbs 18:21 says:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (NKJV)
What fruit are you cultivating with your words?
Prophecy, Delay, and Faith Fatigue
Many of you reading this have received prophetic words that haven’t manifested. You may even feel weary, like Abraham waiting decades for the promise of Isaac. But God is not slow. His timing is perfect.
Sophia called it faith fatigue—when repeated prophecies don’t yet manifest, and discouragement creeps in. But delay does not mean denial. Just as God told Abraham to count the stars (Genesis 15:5 MEV), God is calling you to believe for what feels impossible.
Prophetic words are seeds. They require cultivation, prayer, fasting, and warfare. You can’t sit passively. 1 Timothy 1:18 tells us to wage warfare with prophecy:
“This command I commit to you, my son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously given to you, that by them you may fight the good fight.” (MEV)
Prophecies are not entertainment—they are marching orders.
Declarations That Shift Atmospheres
One of the most practical and powerful aspects of It Will Be God is the prophetic decrees at the end of each chapter. These are not meant to be skimmed but spoken aloud.
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17 MEV). When you declare “It will be God who heals my body… It will be God who restores my marriage… It will be God who breaks generational curses”—you are aligning your spirit with heaven and putting the enemy on notice.
Friend, I encourage you:
- Take a journal.
- Write 20 declarations starting with “It will be God…”
- Pray them aloud daily until your soul and spirit agree with heaven.
This is how you fight faith fatigue. This is how you stir up your prophetic destiny.
Enduring Dark Seasons With Grace
Sophia spoke of receiving an unusual fresh anointing after her mother’s death. At first, she resisted it. She didn’t want the oil that came through crushing. But she realized God was giving her double portion anointing—double strength, double faith, double revelation.
Isaiah 61:7 promises:
“Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion; therefore in their land they shall possess the double; everlasting joy shall be theirs.” (MEV)
God doesn’t waste pain. When you endure with trust, you don’t just survive—you emerge carrying new oil.
The Power of Prayer Beyond Words
Sophia also emphasized the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to intercede through groans and tongues when our understanding is limited. Romans 8:26 says:
“Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” (MEV)
This is not a passive prayer life but one of surrender. When you release that groan, you are releasing heaven’s accuracy into your situation.
Application for Your Life
So how do you apply this?
- Declare It will be God daily over every situation.
- Journal prophetic decrees and revisit them often.
- Embrace seasons of suffering rather than resisting them.
- Guard your lips from negativity.
- Engage the Holy Spirit in prayer, even when words fail.
As Sophia said, what’s for you is for you. Heaven already recorded your days (Psalm 139:16 MEV). Now walk them out by faith, not by sight.
