I recently released some prophetic words on how 2020 is a time where the rubber meets the road and God is calling us to get serious about our walk with Him. He was further telling me recently that we need to trust Him.
In order to trust Him and get serious about our walk with the Lord, we need to get in a place of rest. Rest is the word I am currently hearing from the Lord. What does the word rest mean? It means getting before our Father God and resting our souls and physical bodies.
God wants us to slow down. He wants us to take moments of time where we sit quietly before Him and just focus and meditate on Him. This isn’t to be a time where we are firing off our prayer list and decreeing and declaring. This is to be a time where we are quiet before the Lord. It is a time when we make ourselves available to the Lord. It is soaking in His presence. Years ago, I wrote an article for Charisma magazine on soaking.
It is in soaking and resting before the Lord that we position ourselves to be rejuvenated and set on fire again for the Lord. We want to do for the Lord without being with the Lord. Our minds run rampant, raging with thoughts of all sorts, but we don’t take any opportunity to quiet our souls down by coming before the Lord in quietness and then we wonder why we get burned out and tired.
It is in seasons and times of quietness that He refreshes us. It keeps our soul and spirit balanced and in tune with the Lord.
I believe the Lord is saying 2020 is going to be a phenomenal year for the kingdom of God; however, with the upcoming election, I also believe it is going to be a year of turmoil. God has us in a time of trusting Him to help prepare us for 2020. I believe ministries are going to open and expand in 2020. He is instructing us to rest now for all He has in store for us. Resting is being quiet before the Lord, being still in our bodies, and shutting down our thoughts.
We need to position ourselves to be in the presence of God. It is in the time of being in His presence that nothing else matters and we will be recharged. How can you orchestrate your day and change your schedule to prioritize to give God and your physical body some rest time in order to refocus your emotions and recharge your soul?
