You’ve tried everything you can think of to get set free. Sexual immorality still plagues you. It is a temptation in which you don’t know how to get free and stay free. Masturbation is a problem and you can’t stop. You love the Lord and want to be set free, but an invisible force lures you into the sin. How do you move forward and what is the missing element to your deliverance?
I was just in worship and my hands were raised in praise to the Lord. I was reminded of a prophetic word I wrote years ago. We are conduits of the Holy Spirit. Our hands are platforms of His love and affection as we touch other people. Jesus uses our hands to heal the sick. We use our hands for holy purposes such as anointing, communion and gestures as we preach and praise. Yet, those in sexual immorality use them one moment to praise and another moment to sin.
You haven’t gotten free from taking every thought captive, repenting or the multiple counseling or deliverance sessions you’ve gone through. In worship, a few moments before I wrote this article, I thought could you transfer your thoughts that your hands are holy instruments of God. Would seeing your hands as sacred tools prevent you from sin?
We discuss the power of our words and how the same mouth we use to praise, curse, and release foul language. We talk about not gossiping one moment and then singing praise the next. How is using our hands any different than using our mouth? It isn’t different, and it is just a personal, intimate topic we don’t want to be that frank about. However, I’d rather be frank and get you delivered than be quiet and keep you in bondage.
I know this is a real talk message, but as I said, I received it in worship. I believe this transference of thinking and realizing that our hands are anointed could help someone, even if just one, leave behind lust and continue to release God’s love.
