There is a remnant rising—a people not just content with reading the Word of God but who tremble at it. A people who sit in awe when God speaks, whose hearts are pierced, transformed, and aligned with every word that proceeds from His mouth. Are you one of them?
Many believe in the power of God’s Word simply because He is God. But the Lord is calling His children into something deeper—a reverent awe, a holy trembling, a captivation by the voice of the Spirit and the truth of Scripture.
“But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.”
— Isaiah 66:2 (NKJV)
The Word is a Person and a Presence
Jesus is the Word made flesh. He is not merely ink on a page or a historical message. Every word He speaks is not just instruction—it is impartation. When the Word comes alive to us, it transforms our very essence. It is the person of Jesus making Himself known.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
— John 1:1,14 (MEV)
You cannot encounter the living Word and remain the same. The Word is alive, active, and surgical in nature. It cuts, refines, and restores.
“For the word of God is alive and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword…”
— Hebrews 4:12 (MEV)
Are we allowing the Word to do this work in us, or have we become numb to its power?
Heaven’s Gaze Is Drawn to the Trembling Heart
There are thousands of Christian voices, worship services, and sermons happening around the world. But there is one thing that uniquely draws the gaze of God: a heart that trembles at His Word. The Hebrew root of “tremble” in Isaiah 66:2 carries the meaning of quaking inwardly with reverence.
God is not impressed by performance. He is moved by posture.
“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”
— Psalm 51:17 (MEV)
What posture are you carrying? Do you pause when the Word is spoken? Do you weep over its truths? Do you tremble under its weight?
The Word Reveals His Nature and His Heart
Every word from God is pregnant with His nature. His Word doesn’t simply carry information—it releases transformation. It’s not just what He says, but who He is.
When He speaks, He is not only communicating His will, but His intentions. He is revealing the Father-heart, the justice of the Judge, the compassion of the Shepherd, and the authority of the King.
“He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions.”
— Psalm 107:20 (MEV)
Purified by Fire, Washed by the Word
As believers, we must welcome the twofold refining: the fire of the Holy Spirit and the washing of the Word.
“That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.”
— Ephesians 5:26 (MEV)
We cannot mature in Christ without the Word. We cannot hear His voice clearly apart from the Scripture. We cannot stand in warfare without His truth embedded deep within us.

Does Your Soul Treasure the Word?
“For your heart will always pursue what you esteem as your treasure.”
— Matthew 6:21 (TPT)
We must ask ourselves:
- Do I truly treasure the Word?
- Have I made room in my soul for it?
- Is His Word my final authority?
Our pursuit reveals our priorities. What we meditate on becomes what we manifest. The Word must be more than a devotional—it must become our dwelling place.
The Word Prepares You for Every Assignment
“Then you will be God’s servant, fully mature and perfectly prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives you.”
— 2 Timothy 3:17 (TPT)
You cannot fulfill your kingdom destiny apart from the Word. The Word equips, matures, and sharpens. It is your sword, your shield, your strategy.
Three Things to Help You Grow in the Word:
- Read the Word Daily: Make space for the Bible in your morning routine. Start with the Gospels and Psalms.
- Soak in the Word: Turn on audio Scripture as you sleep. Let the Word minister to your spirit even as you rest.
- Journal the Word: As God highlights verses to you, write them down. Ask Him, “How do You want me to apply this?”
Ask Yourself:
- When was the last time the Word of God made me tremble?
- Am I more captivated by the voice of man or the voice of God?
- Do I measure truth by the Word, or by feelings and opinions?
- What needs to shift in me to treasure His Word more deeply?
Speak These Declarations:
- I tremble at the Word of God and honor it in every area of my life.
- The Word is alive in me and transforms me daily.
- My heart is fertile soil, and the Word bears much fruit in me.
- I align my life with the eternal truth of Scripture.
- I will not compromise the Word for culture or convenience.
- The Holy Spirit reveals fresh revelation to me as I read the Word.
- The Word of God is my sword, and I wield it with boldness.
- I am rooted and established in truth.
- I delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night.
- His Word revives, heals, and matures me for every assignment.
