How to Shut Down Witchcraft Attacks
Witchcraft is not a fantasy. It is a very real tactic of the enemy, used to kill, steal, and destroy God’s people (John 10:10). We are living in a heightened season where curses are released, especially during times when occult activity increases. Yet, whether it’s Halloween or an ordinary Tuesday, demonic assignments can be sent against your health, family, finances, or destiny.
The good news is this: through the blood of Jesus Christ and the authority He has given His children, we can shut down witchcraft attacks before they ever activate.
Recognizing the Reality of Witchcraft
The Bible makes it clear that sorcery and witchcraft are not imagination. In the book of Acts, we see Simon the Sorcerer attempting to manipulate the apostles for power (Acts 8:9–11). Paul confronts Elymas the sorcerer, who opposed the gospel, and declares, “You son of the devil, full of all deceit and all fraud, will you not cease perverting the right ways of the Lord?” (Acts 13:10).
From Genesis to Revelation, witchcraft is identified as rebellion against God. But believers have no need to fear. Scripture promises us, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” ( Isaiah 54:17).
Three Keys to Shut Down Witchcraft Attacks
- Guard Your Mouth Against Gossip
Gossip is not harmless. It is an open door for the enemy. When we slander or backbite, we give the devil ammunition to accuse us. The Word warns, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).- Refuse to partner with negativity.
- Release blessing instead of complaint.
- Keep your speech holy so the enemy has nothing to accuse you of.
- Close the Door to Sin
Sin is a magnet for demonic activity. Addictions, complaining, lust, and disobedience create openings for curses to land. Repentance is not a one-time act—it’s a lifestyle. Jesus said, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17).
To close demonic doors:- Identify sin patterns in your life.
- Turn from them and surrender to Christ.
- Replace sinful behavior with gratitude, prayer, and worship.
- Release Forgiveness Daily
Unforgiveness is one of the most dangerous open doors. Jesus taught that if we do not forgive others, our heavenly Father will not forgive us (Matthew 6:14–15).
Forgiveness breaks the legal right of the enemy to attack. Holding bitterness can even lead to sickness and disease. Keep short accounts. Speak forgiveness into the spiritual realm: “I love them, and I release them.”
My Testimony of Deliverance
There was a time when doctors were preparing to diagnose me with cancer. But I knew the type of disease they suspected was tied to unforgiveness. I examined my heart and knew that I had been continually releasing forgiveness to a family member who had hurt me deeply.
Because I had kept that door closed, the witchcraft curse could not legally stand against me. That very day, God gave me a medically verified miracle—biopsy confirmed. Later, I discovered it had been a witchcraft assignment. The attack got through my armor because I wasn’t praying offensively enough, but because my heart was pure, the curse had no right to remain.
The Power of Anointing Oil in Spiritual Warfare
One of the strongest weapons God has given us is anointing oil. The Bible shows us repeatedly how oil was consecrated and used to break yokes and set apart God’s people (Exodus 30:25–31, James 5:14).
When witchcraft curses tried to attack me, I anointed myself daily. I anointed my doorposts, my property, and even my vehicles. Demons hate the presence of the Holy Spirit, and anointing oil is a tangible reminder of His power.

Prayer Strategies to Break Witchcraft Attacks
When witchcraft attacks rise, prayer must become militant. The enemy is violent, and the kingdom of God suffers violence, but the violent take it by force (Matthew 11:12).
Here are strategies I used:
- Declare witchcraft operations to cease in the name of Jesus.
- Annihilate principalities and demonic thrones assigned against you.
- Cancel curses and dismantle demonic kingdoms.
- Apply the blood of Jesus over your family, home, finances, and pets.
- Proclaim: “I will live and not die, and declare the works of the Lord” (Psalm 118:17).
Questions to Ask Yourself
- Am I gossiping, complaining, or speaking negatively?
- Have I closed all doors of sin in my life?
- Am I truly forgiving others from the heart?
- Am I praying offensively, or only reacting when I feel attacked?
- Have I applied the blood of Jesus over my household daily?
Prayer Declarations Against Witchcraft
- In the name of Jesus, I expel and force out every demonic curse.
- I command every monitoring and familiar spirit to be destroyed.
- I declare that every diabolical plan crafted against me is nullified.
- I constrict and silence every mind-binding spirit.
- I prophesy that death and destruction are not my portion.
- I decree that I walk in the fullness of Christ’s victory.
Pray these aloud with faith, knowing heaven backs your words.

Isaiah 54:17 reminds us: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.” Witchcraft attacks may come, but they cannot prosper when you are walking in holiness, forgiveness, and the authority of Christ.
Do not fear the curses of the enemy. Stand boldly. Live righteously. Pray offensively. Anoint yourself and your household. Break every curse with the Word of God, and watch the victory of Jesus manifest in your life.
The enemy is active, but greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).
