How to Cast Out Sickness at the Root
When we talk about healing, our minds often go immediately to doctors, prescriptions, natural remedies, or even fervent prayers for the physical manifestation of healing. But what if the missing link to your breakthrough isn’t medical or even physical—what if it’s spiritual? What if behind the pain, diagnosis, or chronic condition is a demonic stronghold that hasn’t yet been cast out?
As believers, we’re quick to declare that Jesus is our Healer—and He is. But Jesus is also the Deliverer. The Gospels show a consistent pattern: Jesus healed and delivered people simultaneously. Not as separate ministries, but as intertwined acts of compassion and authority.
“When evening came, they brought to Him many who were possessed with demons. And He cast out the spirits with His word and healed all who were sick.”

Let that sink in: Jesus didn’t just heal; He also delivered—and He didn’t reserve deliverance for unbelievers. He brought deliverance to those who were under covenant.
Why Haven’t You Seen Manifestation Yet?
Many believers have prayed for healing with great faith. You’ve fasted, declared, and believed. But still, the healing hasn’t come. That leads to frustration, fatigue, and even spiritual weariness. You begin to ask, “What am I missing?” The answer might not be what you think. It might not be a lack of faith, or even a medical issue—it could be a demonic spirit afflicting your body or mind.
The enemy’s job is to steal, kill, and destroy (see John 10:10 MEV). Satan doesn’t just attack your spiritual walk; he’ll try to inflict your body, torment your mind, and hinder your purpose.

The oppression was demonic—and the healing was directly connected to freedom from that oppression.
Can Christians Have Demons?
Yes, Christians can have demons—not in their spirit, which is sealed by the Holy Spirit, but in their soul realm (mind, will, emotions) or body. Demonic oppression is real, and many Christians are living in bondage while trying to medicate, manage, or ignore what needs to be cast out.
“But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.”

Jesus cast out demons. He never coddled them or told people to live with them. Why are we settling for anything less?
The Isaiah Blueprint: Healing and Deliverance
The prophet Isaiah gave us a preview of the Messiah’s ministry:
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”

Jesus came to heal and set captives free. Your body and your soul were both created to be free.
Ask the Holy Spirit to Reveal the Root
I challenge you: sit with the Holy Spirit and ask Him directly:
- “What spirit could be operating behind this illness or diagnosis?”
- “Have I unknowingly partnered with a spirit of infirmity, death, fear, or trauma?”
The Holy Spirit is our teacher and revealer. He will show you what needs to be evicted so that healing can manifest. You may not need another prescription—you may need to renounce and cast out a spirit that’s trespassing in your body.
Common Spirits Behind Physical Infirmities
This isn’t an exhaustive list, but here are some spirits often connected with physical ailments:
- Spirit of Infirmity – Causes chronic weakness, recurring illness, and pain

- Fear – Weakens the immune system, opens the door to autoimmune disorders
- Trauma – Lodges in the body; unresolved trauma can manifest as chronic pain
- Bitterness/Unforgiveness – Often tied to arthritis, migraines, stomach issues
- Witchcraft – Can result in fatigue, migraines, body aches, dizziness
- Python Spirit – Constricts the prophetic flow, causes fatigue, heaviness

It’s Time to Take Action
Stop tolerating the torment. Jesus gave you authority:
“Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Your breakthrough is not out of reach. You have the Holy Spirit. You have authority. You have everything you need to command the sickness—and the spirit behind it—to leave.
What to Do When You’re Not Healed Yet
- Get quiet with the Holy Spirit and ask for discernment.
- Anoint your body with oil and speak healing and eviction declarations.
- Renounce known sin, soul ties, and trauma. Repent where needed.
- Cast out demonic spirits by name—Jesus didn’t pray them away, He told them to leave.
- Don’t stop until you get your freedom.

- What needs to be evicted so that healing can manifest in my life?
You are not powerless. You are not alone. You are anointed for healing and freedom. Take hold of your authority, and partner with the Holy Spirit for complete deliverance. Your destiny is too important to stay in bondage.
Now is the time to cast it out.
