Long ago when I was a child, my grandmother would just give you a look and right away you knew it was time to shape up or remove yourself from the area. I think the kids of today have lost that structure when it comes to discipline. Often when routines are put into place just one look will make you correct your behavior. Communication is the art of relaying a message to others by the following: sight, by moving, the tone in which we use are a few to express oneself. According to Webster’s dictionary however, communication is “the imparting or exchanging of information or news”. It is very essential in our relationships as we encounter others which determines the result with others. Experience brings wisdom and allows us to either rise or fall. Often relationships are ruined by the lack of communication, or a misunderstanding gone wrong. Whether you’re talking, to your family, children, spouse, co-workers, neighbor etc., the way we interact with each other goes along way.
As time goes along, not only does the use of sight tell a person what’s happening but moving around lets you know as well. For instance, when you tell a child to clean up something or you give them instructions numerous times and they don’t adhere to the directions, all it takes is your parent to come into the room and immediately everything that was told to you jogs the memory. Just her walking in the room makes you want to do what was told.
When communicating with others the tone in what we use can be beneficial or detrimental. Many misunderstandings or spats can be avoided when we are mindful of the tone in which we use. If you yell and scream at someone know that you will receive the same reaction. When working, interacting with others etc., you can get anyone to do just about anything you need but the tone is what matters.
Your voice matters, silent, calm, or loud with excitement, an open line of communication and the way in which we handle what is communicated would make life less chaotic to say the least! Communication is the key to living a stress-free life whether it’s your home, work, with family or just anyone you encounter. Start your day right with an open line of communication, it can take your far!!
