Prayer is essential in our life. When I think of Mary of Bethany when she went to Jesus and said, in John 11:32, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. Mary knew the importance of praying to Jesus, and I feel like she saw Jesus for who he was. In our prayer time, we need to know our authority and who Jesus is to us. We need to know the power that is in Jesus’ name. We must go to him with faith and believe our prayers are coming. We should not doubt when it comes to prayer.
I’m a true believer in prayer. Jesus’s disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. They knew how important prayer was to Jesus. Jesus’s word says when you pray, not if you pray, which means you learn how to pray by praying. The more we pray, the more we build our confidence and grow in prayer. Jesus expects us to pray.
I enjoy early morning prayer. Early morning prayer helps me to get my day going. I yield to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to mark my steps for my day. I believe praying in the morning helps me have a better day.
Now that I have been under Kathy DeGraw Ministries, Apostle Kathy has taught me to pray audibly, which is very important. Apostle Kathy has taught me the importance of having a prayer life and being prayed up. I never knew about spiritual warfare, and I have discovered how important it is to be prayed up and how the enemy works. Spiritual warfare is a real thing.
I also believe in speaking in tongues. Tongues have also been very important in my prayer life. Another thing I have learned during my prayer time is to be silent and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to me. It is not an easy thing to do, but it needs to be mastered, and I feel that it’s a very important part of our prayer time. Praise and worship are a form of prayer as well, and it is where we get some of our biggest breakthroughs. I enjoy praying and praise and worship music during my prayer time.
