I recently had something that should have been one of the greatest moments of my life turn into an epic fall. It wasn’t my fault. There was nothing I could do about the situation. It was something that happened unexpectedly, but it shook me. It shook me to the core. It made me think about everything and to be honest, I am still thinking, reevaluating and asking God to redirect and refocus me.
We know there will be tests and trials, demonic attacks and our flesh will arise and things will happen that make us think about our life. But what do we do when those things happen? We need to go to the throne instead of the phone. We must seek the Holy Spirit for direction instead of friends. We must rely on the greatest team of 3, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, for direction and instruction.
When you are shaken to the core, do you fall to victim and defeat or do you rise above your disappointment? God has a plan. Sometimes that plan gets altered. Often He has a plan beyond our comprehension, but still, He is in the plan and He is for you. I want you to know God is for you! I believe some of you need to just shout it out from the rooftops, “God is for me.”
Situations will arise, seasons will come and go. There will be days we move through adverse circumstances with grace and elegance. There will also be times we can barely catch our breath with the devastation we are feeling inside. But, through it, all God still sits on the throne and He is for you. He knew the circumstance was going to happen before it did. He was already running ahead of you. Because, He is for you. Are you for you?
Disappointments will happen. Ministries will fail. Jobs will end. Health issues will attack. Friends will disappear. At the end of everything, all that is left is you. So you better be for you. We don’t get to take anything to heaven except ourselves, so we better be for ourselves. God is for you. When your world is shaken, turned upside down and you feel in despair, are you for you because God is for you?
I believe we should all evaluate once a year our lives, ministries, family and employment. We should present it all to the Lord and say, “It is yours,” and then ask what do you want and what don’t you want. The Spirit should so lead us we are willing to give Him anything and everything at a moment’s notice. He is for you, which means He knows what is good and bad even when we don’t. I know what we need to ditch and pitch. When the shaking and quaking come, and unfortunately it will let it be an opportunity to reflect and get back into alignment with God’s will for your life.
